John C. Lilly was a neuroscientist who invented the Lilly wave or the Lilly pulse, which is a balanced bidirectional pulse pair, which looks as follows.
This wave is useful because it does not damage brain tissue when an electric current is applied to the brain via electrodes. Using this waveform prevents both thermal and electrolytic damage. You can read more about the Lilly wave here: The Lilly Wave.
Also, what is somewhat controversial is that the Lilly wave is used in mind control because this waveform does not fatigue the brain or damage its tissues.

Wow, thank you for this site! I have been pining over a $4000 pemf device for half a year now. I can’t believe I didn’t even think to make one myself. Is there any advantage to fet a trifield meter over a gauss meter? Obviously it is more expensive. Thanks!
For this application, either one ought to work well. But for finding other sources of electrosmog or EMF pollution, the TriField meter shines, as it can also find electric field, radio and microwave pollution. The TriField does not go into the high frequency ranges of cell phones or wifi, but the company that makes that meter has one that can, and there are other players too. See http://www.lessemf.com
What is the difference between a lioly and a pulse?

The Lilly wave is gentler than the pulse wave. The Lilly wave is a sine-like wave that is balanced, where as the pulse is a 5% duty cycle square wave, with positive offset. I like using the Lilly wave for sleep because it is gentle, however if I need something more powerful I use the pulse wave.

Also the negative pulse seems to be less than 5% it’s correct?
The negative pulse has a larger amplitude than the positive pulse, but the area under the curve of the positive pulse and the negative pulse are the same. The ratio of the positive pulse to the negative pulse is 8 to 9.
If you look at the source I listed in your previous comment, the delay is 2/3 of the period of the wave.

Hello, thank you very much for all your research, right now I am very interested in the Lilly wave, my intention is to make a Lilly Wave generator on the Arduino platform to drive a transcranial current stimulation system. Would it be possible to know the programming code to generate such waveform?

Thank you for this. I may have found a mind window frequency: 4.89 or 4.9 hz i seem to get images and information comming in when i use this wih strobe leds at my eyelids. Sine wave. You can create audio files with the Lilly wave using the tool found on the post called Create Rife Frequency Set, in the link labelled “Search Frequency Database”. You can choose the waveform for your audio file, where one of the choices is the Lilly Wave.
